There are two hospitals within Liberty County; Liberty Regional Medical Center offers a range of public services, and Winn Army Community Hospital serves Fort Stewart soldiers, dependents and veterans.

Liberty Regional Medical Center in 2013 underwent an $8.6 million remodeling project that created a new 14,000 SF emergency room, expanded the labor and delivery wing and resulted in more usable space for several of the hospital's departments.

Winn Army Community Hospital in recent years has undergone extensive renovations and enhancements, and in January 2013, military leaders broke ground on a construction phase that includes a two-story, 44,000 SF emergency room and an addition of 55,000 SF that will enhance several other departments. The first phase of construction included a 65,000 SF project aimed at enhancing space for muscular-skeletal, orthopedic and podiatric medical practices, as well as physical and occupational therapy and behavior-health and social-work services.

Hinesville Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic

The Ralph M. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center operates a 5,000 SF temporary clinic in Hinesville with primary and mental-health care, and a 23,000 SF permanent facility is under construction and slated for completion in spring 2014. Once fully operational, the clinic will have six primary-care professionals, as well as pharmacy, radiology, optometrist, women’s health and transition and case management services, according to Tonya Lobbestael, public affairs officer for the Charleston-based regional VA system.
