    Liberty County attracts young adults

Liberty County is ranked eighth in a list of 40 U.S. counties that draw young people compiled by 247wallstreet.com.
The list, released Aug. 28, was compiled from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and was based on the number of 25 to 34-year-olds who moved into the counties in 2016 as a share of their total population.
The article said Liberty’s 63,000 population included 4.6 percent who were classified as young adults and who moved in during that year. It pointed out that county’s median age is just under 28, more than 10 years younger than the nation’s median. And, it said, nearly 19 percent of adults in the county have at least bachelors’ degrees.
Nearby Tattnall County was ranked 11th with 4.3 percent of its population made up of recently arrived young adults.
The county with the highest percentage of young adults was Pulaski County, Missouri, with 7.8 percent of its population who arrived the year before.
