    Statewide project managers visit Liberty

Bus tour showcases Tradeport Business Center, Dorchester Shooting Preserve

Liberty County project manager visitOCTOBER 27, 2014: MIDWAY, Ga. — A delegation of statewide economic and community development project managers last week received a warm welcome to Liberty County.

Visitors from Georgia Power Community and Economic Development, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs participated in a regional familiarization tour that included a windshield tour of Tradeport Business Center and Midway Industrial Park.

Liberty County Development Authority Director of Business Development Jessica Hood guided the group and spoke about the industrial parks’ growth and land characteristics.

“This annual tour is an excellent opportunity for Liberty County to showcase its business parks and highlight the attributes that make our community a great place to live and do business,” Hood said. “Ensuring these statewide representatives are familiar with what we have to offer helps to keep us top of mind when they are recruiting companies from all over the world.”

The delegates stopped at Dorchester Shooting Preserve, adjacent to Tradeport East Business Center, where the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau served its signature Peach Tea. Crafted to pay homage to Liberty’s early agricultural days, the beverage includes peaches, cane sugar from Geechee Kunda and tea from Florapharm Tea USA, a German tea company whose American distribution center is located in Hinesville Technology Park.

Sponsored by Georgia Power, the tour was coordinated by Peggy Jolley, a Regional Manager for Community and Economic Development, whose territory includes Coastal Georgia.

“Georgia Power has found over the years that it is very important to get the statewide project managers out into the communities to learn about the properties and buildings that they promote,” Jolley said. “We so appreciate what Liberty County did to highlight its assets; everyone on the bus thought Dorchester Shooting Preserve was a great venue and the hospitality was wonderful.”
