Hiring Assistance

The Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) is the Army's premiere transition program designed to assist soldiers as they leave active duty for the civilian job market. Both new companies and existing industry in Liberty County have taken advantage of the ACAP office at Fort Stewart as a primary hiring resource.

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) also is a valuable recruiting and screening resource with an office in Liberty County. The GDOL has worked with many large and small companies in Liberty County to help connect job seekers with employment opportunities.

The Liberty College & Career Academy (LCCA) is a joint venture between the local school system, Savannah Tech and local employers to better prepare the community’s workforce. The LCCA teaches students about a variety of career pathways (to include manufacturing), workplace ethics skills and employment acquisition skills. Local employers can partner with the LCCA to customize the curriculum based on the workforce needs of specific companies.

Savannah Technical College can be a valuable training resource for companies. Savannah Tech has provided customized training to several existing industries in Liberty County. The training can be done on-site at the company’s facility or in a classroom and lab setting on one of Savannah Tech’s campuses. Savannah Tech has a campus in Liberty County.

Georgia Tech's Savannah Campus is focused on professional development and providing educational and training resources to industries in the region. Georgia Tech has recently created a VET2 program that gives Savannah region vets a complete toolbox for becoming effective members of the civilian workforce. Georgia Tech has developed a four-week program that focuses on familiarization, socialization, communication and presentation. Local industries can partner with Georgia Tech to "test drive" potential employees as part of this program.
